Track and Field is one of our favorite days! Each grade level has an all day competition with the PE teacher. With my 2/3 split, we decided to go with the 3rd graders. In the morning, we do fun activities and in the afternoon, we do water activities. The PE teacher keeps up with points from each activity and the winner receives a paper maché torch that our art teacher made. The torch is passed from classroom winner to classroom winner each year.
Some of the favorite activities are Egg Toss, Suitcase Relay, and the Three Legged Race. The Egg Toss is shown above. The students toss a raw egg back and forth. With each successful toss, students take a step backwards. This makes the tosses harder. Should a student miss...well...the egg breaks! (YUCK!).
Tug of War, shown above, is a student favorite each year! This student was digging in his heels so we could take home the win! (He is such a good football player too!)
Even though we didn't win, our class had so much fun! Track and Field is always a day we all look forward to. We felt like winners all day because the students banded together and had a BLAST!
